Anthony Michael Hall and Molly Ringwald (R) made an appearance at last night's AFI Life Achievement Award tribute for Warren Beatty at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.
They seem pretty well preserved and presentable for being 40, but gone is the allure that made every teen and tween want to be them in that age of Wham!, Spandau Ballet,
& Oingo Boingo (yes, I know "tween" is an anachronism when describing the '80s).
I had so much hope in Ms. Ringwald being a superstar for the decades that followed her lovable teens. She opted for (regrettably, I'd imagine) Eurotrashy pursuits and became all pseudo- intellectual - Even relocating to Paris, France. During that time of self-discovery and in the arms of her French lover, she turned down the starring roles in both Pretty Woman and Ghost.
Très intelligente, madamoisselle!
Oh well, it's nice to see she can still afford to eat really well and didn't follow in the path of other '80s teens like Corey Haim and Dana Plato.
