Mrs. Jane Egly , a former family law practitioner, is a professor of law at the University of La Verne College of Law. She is also the law school's director of clinical programs, which give ULV's law students the opportunity to obtain real life experience with a practicing attorney, and she oversees the Lawyering Skills Practicum (LSP) program started by her husband, retired Superior Court Judge Honorable Paul W. Egly. Professor Egly currently serves as the Mayor of Laguna Beach, Calif. and has served in the past on the Board of Los Angeles County Neighborhood Legal Services. She also spent two years as chair of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties and continues to serve on its Board. In 1974, Professor Egly began a legal program that allows a judge to appoint a child lawyer in custody disputes. Although Pomona, California was the first city to ever use the program, many states have adopted the program since its founding. Professor Egly teaches Family Law and Lawyering Skills Practicum at ULV College of Law. She is knowledgable, helpful and friendly and is prepared to speak about the recent California gay marriage ruling.

HILARY ZALON , The Cradle: Upon discovering she was pregnant, The Cradle founder Hilary Zalon turned to the Internet as a ready source of information. Like most expectant parents, she quickly discovered that while the Web is full of useful information and resources, the most valuable and reliable content can be difficult to separate from the endless sales pitches, conflicting opinions, unmoderated message boards, and misinformation. By nature an organizer and planner, Zalon kept track of the most useful tools, resources, sites, and articles throughout her pregnancy. She made lists of items and information she wanted but couldn't find, and thought there had to be a better way for modern parents to navigate this new world. Zalon gave birth to a baby girl, Sascha, in October of 2005. The first year of motherhood was a bit of a blur, as it tends to be for most new parents, but as Sasha approached her first birthday, Zalon dug into her project files, determined to give birth to an outstanding online community resource for expectant parents. Calling on her 10 years of experience as an interactive media executive with companies including Virgin Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Sony Music Group, Zalon compiled a virtual treasure trove of tools, information, and community features. In April 2007, The Cradle was born. Zalon was raised in Long Island, New York and lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband and their daughter Sasha. She is a graduate of Lafayette College (B.A., English).
