The remodeling of these stores continues Pet Supermarket's strategy to update/renovate their stores to a new distinctive type of store layout and interior design. This style includes but is not limited to:

-- a unique floor where shoppers appear to be walking on grass, or water

-- improved lighting

-- the largest selection of collars, harnesses and leads

-- the latest in bath and body care products for dogs

-- a large reptile department

-- an expanded freshwater fish department

-- improved merchandising of products

Pet Supermarket has been in business over thirty years, and different stores in the chain have been open different periods of time. Over the past few years the company has taken the initiative to update the older stores to give them this "modern" look. Currently, over 80% of the stores have this new style and feel, with plans to renovate the remaining 20% of the stores in the next 2-3 years.
