- Engauge Digital Stephanie Critchfield, 404-601-4348 Director of Marketing scritchfield@engauge.com Engauge Digital, the Interactive Center of Excellence within Engauge that leverages knowledge in human behavior to produce digital design and marketing strategy, was awarded both the Vanguard Award for Most Creative Use of Emerging Media and the Best of Show Award at the first annual AiMA Awards 2008 presented by the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association (AiMA). Engauge Digital shares this award with their client InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), for the work that they did creating the The Place to Meet Island, Crowne Plaza's meeting space in the virtual world, Second Life.

"The Place to Meet Island has been a terrific success," said Del Ross, IHG's VP of Distribution Marketing for the Americas. "Working with Engauge Digital to create this space has presented an entirely new way for customers to experience the Crowne Plaza brand -- something no other digital platform can offer."

In the real world, Crowne Plaza is branded as "the place to meet"; translating this idea into Second Life was a natural step for the brand. The Place to Meet Island is one of the only destinations in Second Life that offers private, secure meeting space. It is specifically designed to accommodate a variety of groups interested in conducting business or private meetings. Each of three rooms on The Place to Meet Island can be reserved using an online reservation system and each offers a media screen that allows for audio, video, images, and presentations.

"It is a huge honor to be selected as Best in Show for the AiMA Awards 2008, considering there were 43 companies that entered their work," said Shannon Delaney, VP of Client Services at Engauge Digital. "We are thrilled that our shared vision with IHG has become a reality. We had a very dedicated team working on this project, and we appreciate clients like IHG pushing our work to the next level. Being praised with this award is a huge win for the team."

The AiMA Awards 2008 honored the following interactive marketing categories: business-to-business, customer acquisition, integrated/cross channel marketing, online brand experience and online marketing strategy. The awards also presented the Vanguard Award for the best use of emerging media as well as a Best in Show award for the overall best submission.
