Congressman Jay Inslee Will Speak at Clean Technology 2008 in Boston

Cleantech 2008 - Clean Technology and Sustainable Industry Organization (www.CT-SI.org), producer of Clean Technology 2008, today announced that Congressman Jay Inslee of Washington will be a keynote speaker on June 2nd at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston Massachusetts.

"Clean technologies are rapidly maturing from lab to marketplace. The Clean Technology conference provides a unique forum for companies and labs to showcase their technologies," said Dr. Matthew Laudon, President and Founding Chair of the Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization (CTSI). "We are pleased that Congressman Inslee will help open the conference, as he is a recognized national leader in driving changes that positively impact the environment and our economy."

A long-time champion of clean energy, Congressman Inslee has worked at the federal level as representative for the 4th Congressional District from 1992-1994 and the 1st Congressional District since 1999. Since 2005, Congressman Inslee has used his seat on the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee to promote his vision for a clean energy future, the New Apollo Energy Act, and to advance other legislation that would reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. In March 2007, he was appointed to the 15-member Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.

In addition to his official role in Washington DC, Congressman Inslee is also well-known as the co-author of Apollo's Fire - Igniting America's Clean Energy Economy. The Congressman's passion for a sustainable future is captured in his vision for a clean energy revolution and economic transformation driven by new technologies and investment in local communities.
