Altos High School. The Rambus "Innovator of the Future" scholarship awards program, established in 2004, seeks to broaden the educational opportunities of students who, by virtue of their academic and extracurricular achievement, demonstrate a passion for science and technology that extends beyond the classroom.

Kelly and Vesuna have each been awarded $10,000 for college or university tuition and books at a U.S. or foreign college or university. The scholarship money will be distributed in equal increments over four years at the beginning of each academic year.

"At Rambus, we depend on innovation to advance our business and to benefit the electronics industry," said Harold Hughes, president and chief executive officer at Rambus. "Our Innovator of the Future scholarship program helps seed future science and technology pioneers, like Ryan and Sam, vital to our industry's continued success."

In addition to the scholarship awards, a one-time award of $1,000 will go to each of the other four finalists in this year's scholarship program: Katherine Johnson, Tania Morimoto, Christine Ryan and Travis Schuh, all from Mountain View High School.

Eligibility for the Rambus "Innovator of the Future" scholarship award extends to individuals attending a high school located in either Mountain View or Los Altos, Calif., and graduating before fall 2008 with plans to attend a four-year college or university program of study beginning in fall 2008. Applications for the 2009 Rambus "Innovator of the Future" scholarship awards will be available during the 2008-2009 academic year.
