2008-05-26 23:33:20 - F. Scott Fitzgerald comes alive with a Mum's the Word and a play celebrating the woman behind the famous author.

In the performing arts, in conjunction with Wood Library and South Bristol Cultural Center's (SBCC) The Big Read sponsored by National Endowment for the Arts, ATA will hold a speak easy May 31st, Mum's the Word, simulating a 1920's bash, with costumes encouraged and BYOB. The Greater Finger Lakes Jazz Orchestra will provide the tunes.

'All Things Art invites everyone

to an old fashioned speak easy, without the bath tub gin,' Kathy Morris says, spokesperson for ATA . 'Come dressed in a costume, there will be prizes.'

In addition, on June 6th a premiere performance of Mrs. F. Scott Fitzgerald: ZELDA will be presented at 7pm to highlight the life of this creative woman, often overshadowed by her famous husband. The play, written and performed by Kathy Morris, highlights the life of the famous novelist. Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald (July 24, 1900 - March 10, 1948), born Zelda Sayre in Montgomery, Alabama, was also a novelist and icon of the 1920s-dubbed by her husband "the first American Flapper". Save both dates to step back in time and enjoy when life was less complicated, stylish, and fun.
